In order to increase energy efficiency, we took our first steps in 2013 to introduce LED lighting technology. With this next step, we have introduced the newest LED lighting technology in Hall 1, in the social areas, and in the teaching workshop. By using lights from Phillips and Osram, we are sure that we made the best choice.

Although the procurement costs are still very high, the following advantages speak for this technology:

• power consumption
• long life span
• low maintenance costs
• easy installation

In order to achieve maximum savings, the lights in the social areas will be activated by motion sensors. Especially during the night shift, these areas were left completely lit in the past, although no light was needed for hours at a time.

We expect this to produce cost benefits of up to 50%.
