The Harsewinkel job fair grows larger every year because of the increasing importance of gaining young skilled workers for apprenticeships at companies. On 05.03.2014, representatives from 53 companies in the region presented different trades to nearly 600 students during the sixth job fair at the Harsewinkel multi-purpose hall. The eighth and ninth graders of August Claas School, the vocational school, and the high school visited at least nine locations to gain practical experience with typical trades.

Hermesmeyer & Greweling presented the apprenticeship program for cutting machine operators in the technical milling area and industrial mechanics in the technical maintenance area. The students were tasked with sorting the individual parts of an eccentric mechanism and then assembling them according to the template drawing. This enables them to test their technical skill and their manual dexterity. At the same time, contacts are established to get to know trades as an intern or during a work experience day.
